Educator Resource Center Internship
Description: The Educator Resource Center and Lyman Library is the information hub for the Museum of Science. The ERC houses an extensive collection of books, journals and media that support the exploration of science, engineering, math, and technology topics by staff, volunteers, and educators in New England.
Position Summary: The Educator Resource Center intern would help maintain the collection, process new materials, provide reference assistance, and assist with special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Help maintain the collection (includes shelving and shelf reading).
- Process new materials.
- Provide reference support (includes telephone and email requests).
- Work on special projects according to interests and time.
Special projects might include updating material summaries, creating suggested reading lists to complement museum exhibits, or updating Ready Reference Files.
Qualifications:
- Completed at least two years of college/university.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work with a diverse audience.
- Responsible, self-motivated worker. Interested in museums, libraries and/or education.
Length of Internship:
Fall 2008
Number of Hours:
14-21 hours per week
Salary Range:
Unpaid and/or for course credit
