Maintenance Document Management Intern - Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (Chelsea, MA)

Purpose: To provide the Metro Maintenance staff of the MWRA (Massachusetts Water Resources Authority) easy access to facility documentation necessary for their field work, while coordinating with existing and future document management systems.
Supervision Received Works under the direction of the Sr. Project Manager, Metro Trades and the Library Supervisor .
Essential duties:
- Analyze the Metro Maintenance reference document collection, users needs, and existing related databases .
- Use existing database tables if necessary to add terms to the MS Access catalog.
- Check Maintenance documents against existing catalog records, label and arrange on shelf, and catalog unlisted documents.
- Develop MS Access interface screens to meet needs of users. Set up user instructions, signage and check-out system.
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a Library Science Masters Degree Program
- MS Access course work or extensive MS Access database experience.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
