Conference Scholarship Opportunity!

Win a scholarship to attend the ACRL-NE Access Services Interest Group fall program, In Case of Emergency, on November 20, 2008 at The College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with Access Services professionals and participate in a day of collegial professional development. Learn what people working in academic libraries are thinking about and how they are preparing for future challenges.

The program will feature sessions on security planning, emergency management, training, and disaster preparedness.

Three scholarships will be awarded to library school students. The scholarship covers registration and lunch at the program.

To Apply: Write a short statement (no more than 300 words) on one of the following topics:

• The importance of emergency planning
• The role of Access Services in the academic library
• What you hope to learn at this program

Include your name, address, telephone number, email address, the name of the school you are attending, your area of specialization, and your expected date of graduation with your statement. Applications should be emailed to EllenKeane@uml.edu by November 7, 2008. Please write ACRL-NE ASIG Scholarship in the subject line. Winners will be notified by telephone by November 14th.
