Beaver Country Day School
Librarian (temp) December 08- June 09

Duties/ Description:

Beaver Country Day School is seeking a temporary full-time librarian. The ideal candidate will be motivated, a strong problem solver, and excited about using technology to disseminate information. In addition, they must have experience with bibliographic instruction and core collection development.

An overview of responsibilities:

• Oversee parent volunteer program
• Run weekly reports for ILL, serials, and circulation
• Update Book Review Blogs for both Middle and Upper Schools
• Conduct bibliographic instruction as needed
• Special projects as assigned by Library Director

Qualifications:

• M.L.S. degree or pursuing an MLS degree from an accredited library school;
• Knowledge of young adult literature, multicultural/diversity resources, and current technologies that support school libraries (e.g., Web 2.0 applications);
• Basic ability to troubleshoot computer hardware and software.
