Free Lance Archival Project in Connecticut: May-July 2009
Objective: Preparation of Survey of Family Papers
Time Period: 16 May 2009 - 11 July 2009 (8 weeks)
Location: Stonington Borough, Conn (Mystic/New London train stations)
Stipend: Free Lance - $300 per week, private housing provided with internet connection
Qualifications: Prior archival experience preferred. Applicants should have a BA in a relevant humanities field as well as at least one year of training in archival management degree program or employment as a professional archivist.
Project: The aim is to prepare a survey of family papers belonging to Ernie O?Malley (1897-1957), Helen Hooker O?Malley (1905-1993) and Cormac O?Malley (1942- ) to help identify their content, nature, period, location (within system of drawers and boxes) and size (shelf space) in sufficient detail so that the survey can be used to consider options for retention or disposition by sale or donation to relevant archives. Subjects covered include 20th century Irish history and international arts and letters.
