Spring Term 2009 Internship - Expert Information Organizer
Are you passionate about organizing information? Do you wish you could build a neatly catalogued, comprehensive database — of, say, film festivals, classical music concerts, baseball stats, bus schedules, or book awards — without manual data entry and without computer programming? If you are compulsive about getting things right, enjoy doing it, and have the persistence to spend hours on detailed intellectual tasks, we have the internship for you. You’ll be a test pilot for an exciting new tool to teach a computer how to extract knowledge from the world-wide web. This internship term is for 3 months, with the possibility to renew. Positions may range from 15-40 hours/week. Choose your own working hours (within the constraint of 9am-6pm Mon-Fri). Please explain what interests you about the job in an email to intern_careers@itasoftware.com. Attach your resume and, if you’re a student, a copy of your undergraduate and/or graduate transcript.
Qualifications:
- Good intuitions about data organization
- Good English writing ability
- Proficient user of many websites
- Background in library science or linguistics a plus
- Background in quality assurance or software testing a plus
- Experience with and/or a passion for data-collecting in the domains of sports, classical music, or travel a plus
- Experience building spreadsheets a plus
- Programming background not required
How to Apply If you are interested in this position, please send your resume to us at intern_careers@itasoftware.com. An ITA Software recruiter will review your qualifications and contact you if there is a fit with our needs.
