Editor in Chief - VOYA Magazine (Lanham, MD)

VOYA Magazine currently is seeking a full-time Editor in Chief
Following are the basic requirements for the position:
- Extensive professional experience in young adult librarianship
- Extensive knowledge of young adult librarianship and young adult literature
- Solid writing and editing skills
- Proficiency with latest web technologies and software
- Strong management skills (staff, resources, and projects)
Following are the basic responsibilities of the position:
- Plan and oversee the execution of individual issues of each volume of VOYA
- Solicit and acquire articles for VOYA
- Provide ultimate editorial review and approval of each issue prior to printing
- With publisher and with the advice of the advisory board develop short and long term strategies and goals
- Manage two full-time and occasional part-time staff
- Work with other departments in the company to redesign and launch modern, interactive website
- Develop and manage annual budgets (with assistance of the publisher)
- Represent VOYA at major conferences and other meetings
- Work with Scarecrow Press staff to develop a series VOYA guides and books
The salary and benefits are competitive and will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the editor.
