Editor in Chief - VOYA Magazine (Lanham, MD)

VOYA Magazine currently is seeking a full-time Editor in Chief

Following are the basic requirements for the position:

• Extensive professional experience in young adult librarianship
• Extensive knowledge of young adult librarianship and young adult literature
• Solid writing and editing skills
• Proficiency with latest web technologies and software
• Strong management skills (staff, resources, and projects)

Following are the basic responsibilities of the position:

• Plan and oversee the execution of individual issues of each volume of VOYA
• Solicit and acquire articles for VOYA
• Provide ultimate editorial review and approval of each issue prior to printing
• With publisher and with the advice of the advisory board develop short and long term strategies and goals
• Manage two full-time and occasional part-time staff
• Work with other departments in the company to redesign and launch modern, interactive website
• Develop and manage annual budgets (with assistance of the publisher)
• Represent VOYA at major conferences and other meetings
• Work with Scarecrow Press staff to develop a series VOYA guides and books
