Library Science/Information Management Intern Research Program on Children and Global Adversity (RPCGA)

Hours: 10-15 hours per week; availability of 15+ hours welcome Stipend: No stipend available; Course credit for current students may be arranged. Position may also be used to fulfill work-study requirements for eligible students.

The RPCGA is devoted to applied research in global child health and human rights that grapples directly with the implementation gap. The goals of the RPCGA are to advance an evidence base regarding strategies and methods for improving child health service delivery and increasing protections and effective services for children in adversity. Current initiatives focus on the implementation of protections and care for children and families in regions affected by armed conflict and HIV/AIDS. The RPCGA’s Library Science/Information Management Intern will provide the Director and Program Coordinators with specific research and administrative support, and contribute to the continued growth of the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop database/shared drive organization and management
  • Create, manage and streamline new system for organizing and storing hard copy and electronic data
  • Assist in organization of FXB Center library resources
  • Literature searches and reviews as needed

Requirements: Current student or BS/MS in library or information science. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; good communication and people skills a must. Self-starter, ability to take initiative and work independently. Interest and/or background in public health, child development or mental health is helpful but not required. Familiarity with Endnote, RefWorks and/or Reference Manager preferred.
