Partners In Health (PIH) is a non-profit corporation based in Boston, Massachusetts, whose mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. Through service delivery, training, research, and advocacy, PIH works globally to bring the benefits of modern science to those in most in need, and to serve as an antidote to despair. PIH currently has programs in Haiti, Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, Russia, Rwanda, Lesotho, Malawi and Boston. More information about the organization is available at www.pih.org.

Job Description Overview

PIH is seeking a part-time volunteer to help organize and catalogue our photo archive. The PIH photo archive contains thousands of digital photos and slides taken at projects around the world and documenting dozens of programs. The volunteer would help PIH staff develop and implement a system of cataloging the photos. Candidates for this position must have experience (or at least a strong interest) in library science/archiving, as well as an interest in and a good eye for photo images. A working knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop basics and Bridge would be helpful, and strong consideration will be given to candidates with an interest in issues of health and poverty in poor countries and communities. The volunteer must be able to come into the PIH Boston office during office hours to work on this project (our office is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm).
