Joslin Diabetes Center Archival Management of the Special Collections 2009 Voluntary Internship
Work Environment The Joslin Diabetes Center is a 110-year-old institution steeped in history. Founded by a single physician, Elliott P. Joslin, M.D., the Joslin today is the world’s greatest contributor to diabetes research, clinical care and education.
Affiliated with Harvard Medical School, the Joslin is an independent, non-profit academic medical center situated in Boston’s Longwood Medical Area.
On the occasion of the Joslin’s centennial, the Joslin Board of Trustees built a Special Collections room. The Joslin Diabetes Center Vice President of Communications and Joslin Diabetes Center Historian seek an intern to help manage the Special Collections.
The intern will work in the Special Collections room, and have Internet access in the Joslin’s Marble Library. The employer and intern will agree upon a mutually convenient work schedule, beginning in May 2009.
The Vice President of Communications will supervise the Archival Intern.
