YA Librarian - Derry Public Library (Derry, NH)

The Derry Public Library, serving a population of 35,000, seeks an energetic, friendly and creative professional to join the staff as a full time (37.5 hours) YA Reference Librarian.

Duties include providing reference services for patrons of all ages, with a special emphasis on YA services, which includes regular programming and collection development for middle school through high school youth. Candidate will serve as an interface between adult and children’s services. Position requires technological literacy, including facility with Microsoft, Open Source and Web 2.0 applications, a commitment to providing excellent public service, and an interest in continuing professional development. Candidates must also possess the ability to collaborate with library staff as well as community youth organizations, to market programs and services using both social networking technology and more traditional means, and to evaluate collections and services.

Qualifications: MLIS or MLIS candidates preferred.

Work schedule includes two evenings and alternating Saturdays. Competitive salary with benefits.
