[+] Program Requirements for Students Entering Prior to Fall 2005

• The degree requires 36 credit hours.
• Three core courses in library and information science:
• LIS 403: Evaluation of Information Services OR LIS 404: Principles of Management
• LIS 407: Reference/Information Services
• LIS 415: Information Organization
• Three core courses in Archives Management:
• LIS 438: Introduction to Archival Methods & Services
• LIS 439: Preservation Management for Libraries and Archives
• LIS 440: Archival Access and Use
• Internships are required in both LIS 438 and LIS 440.
• For the additional semester hours required to complete the degree, archives management concentrators work with their adviser to design a program to meet individual backgrounds and goals. Concentrators are urged to choose from the following list of electives. Concentrators are also urged to work with the program adviser to select appropriate technology-related courses.
