Note: These instructions are for the paper registration form only. Online registration information can be found on the Online Registration Instructions page.
Please type or print legibly. List only the course number(s) and sections, where applicable, as well as the number of semester hours and the day class meets. Please include an alternate telephone number and e-mail address in case we need to reach you during the daytime. Please do not list instructor, course title, or hours the class meets.
Wait Lists
It is possible that a course you choose might be closed by the time your registration is processed. For this reason, it is to your advantage to mark whether you'd like to be placed on a waiting list and/or be placed in an alternate course. You will not be placed on a waiting list if you do not specifically request to be. If a course and/or section is closed, we will register you for your alternate choice (as long as the class is still open and you meet the prerequisites).
For example, if you'd like to register for LIS 407-05, which meets on Wednesdays, and that is the only date and time that works for you, refer to the first entry line below. If the class is full when your registration is processed, your name will be added to the wait list.
If you'd like to register for LIS 438-01, but LIS 428-02 is a good alternative for you, refer to the second entry line below. YOU MAY NOT BE WAITLISTED FOR ANOTHER SECTION OF THE SAME COURSE, i.e. LIS 407-01 and LIS 407-02.

Should you be placed on a waiting list, you will be notified via your Simmons email account only if a space becomes available for you in the course. For this reason, we urge you to check your Simmons e-mail account regularly. There is no guarantee that a space will become available.
Availability generally occurs only when a student drops out of the course, and there is no way to predict if or when this may occur. Students who are waitlisted may be notified that a spot is available as late as the first day of classes for that semester.

Policies and Forms
Future Plans Form
If you will not be attending Simmons this term, it is essential that you complete the Future Plans Form and return it to the GSLIS Office. This will ensure you receive registration materials for the next term in which you plan to enroll. Those registering for the upcoming term need not complete it. The future plans form can be downloaded here.
Add/Drop Policy and Schedule Changes
All add/drops can be made via AARC at any time. Please visit AARC and log in with your e-mail username and password. If you have any questions, call the AARC hotline at (617) 521-2102 or e-mail aarcsupport@simmons.edu.
Graduate students are permitted to change course registrations without financial penalty prior to the second class meeting, provided that the change does not result in an increased or reduced class load. No student may enroll in a class after the second meeting has occurred.
Registration is binding, both financially and academically. Should a student decide not to attend a class, s/he must drop the class via AARC or provide written notification to the Registrar's Office.
Please note: Notifying Student Financial Services
does not guarantee that the request will be carried out.
Tuition Refund Policy
Information regarding the full term course refund policy is available at my.simmons.edu/services/sfs/accounts/refunds.shtml. Short term and audited courses will be refunded 100% if dropped by the last business day prior to the start of class. There are no refunds after that point. For the full policy, please see our forms and policies page.
Maximum Credit Load Policy
Students entering the program Fall 2005 and thereafter must take classes for 3 credits and may register for no more than 12 credit hours during the fall or spring term. During the spring term, this total includes any short courses during March spring break.
In the summer, students may register for no more than 6 credit hours during the six-week session.
For all terms, a student may register for no more than 3 credit hours during a short course week.
