GSLIS Gateway: Technology Lab

Lab Use Guidelines

No food or drink in the Lab:
Please remember that food is not allowed in the GSLIS Tech Lab. Drinks are only allowed in the lab if they are in a sealed mug. Spilled drinks ruin equipment and cataloging resources that cannot be replaced. Food crumbs attract the building's resident mice to the lab area. The staff is responsible for cleaning and vacuuming the lab. Please help us kepe the lab clean.

GSLIS Students Only:
 The lab is for the use of GSLIS students, alumni, faculty, and staff ONLY.

Reserving Equipment:
 We do not reserve equipment for students. All equipment is on a first come, first serve basis. Cameras are on a 5-day borrowing cycle and zip disks are for 3 weeks.

Cell Phones, Conversations, and Music:
Please take ALL cell phones and conversations out into the hallway or to the lounge. Calls, conversations, and music are very distracting to the students working around you. Set your cell phone to silent mode BEFORE entering the lab. Headphones and a selection of CDs are available at the student worker desk for your use in the lab and CD donations are always accepted and greatly appreciated.
