Faculty Research Celebration at the Library
Posted April 22, 2008
Please join the Library and the Office of Sponsored Programs on Wednesday April 30 from 3-4pm just inside the main entrance to the Library for a reception to celebrate Simmons faculty research.
We will be celebrating research projects that Simmons faculty have worked on over the past five years, highlighting projects that received BRAVO award funds.
The BRAVO award is a joint initiative from the Library and the Office of Sponsored Programs which supports the research activities of Simmons faculty members.
Celebrating its fifth year this spring, the BRAVO award provides $500 to any individual or team who receives a research grant. The additional funds allow faculty and staff to purchase specialized books or other research materials for their grant project work.
Library staff are available to assist BRAVO award recipients in the selection and the purchasing of research materials.
The BRAVO award, which complements traditional library services, demonstrates the Library’s continued commitment to supporting faculty research and cultivating academic excellence at Simmons, priorities in the College’s strategic plan.
The reception on April 30 will include a display of books and articles that have resulted from faculty research grants, and will include posters detailing some of the BRAVO award recipients’ research.
If you cannot join us on April 30 from 3-4, please stop by the Library any time in the month of May to see this exhibit, which will be displayed on the bookshelves just inside the main Library entrance.
