National Library Week!

Posted April 14, 2008

April 13-19, 2008 is National Library Week!

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.

This week is a great time to remember all the services provided by the Simmons Library to our faculty, staff, and students, such as:

  • books, periodicials and online materials to support teaching and learning (see our holdings in the online catalog)
  • research assistance from the Reference librarians (AskNow!)
  • hundreds of places to study, by yourself or in a group: big tables, private carrels, group rooms, comfy chairs
  • Diversions books for fun reading (new Diversions acquisitions)
