Celebrating Children’s Books
Posted January 27, 2009
Every January, the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, awards the Randolph Caldecott Medal to the artist of the most distinguished picture book published during the previous year. From 1938’s Animals of the Bible, A Picture Book to 2009’s The House in the Night, the choices reflect the important themes or styles of their times.
Starting January 29th, a selection of Caldecott award winning books will be on display at the Beatley Library, just inside the main entrance. Come and browse these visual delights!
Did you have a favorite picture book? A story you wanted read every night? Check it out of the Simmons Library to enjoy it all over again!
Add your thoughts about the Caldecott winners and other children’s books to our display journal.
