How does an extra half a million dollars earned during your career sound? In this article, the author points to the fact that many women forfeit much income during their career by not exercising shrewd negotiating skills. Unfortunately, even today, many women fear being perceived as “pushy” by exercising such skills. The article encourages women to overcome their fears by following many recommended steps in the negotiation process, by taking stock of their professional accomplishments, and by using those accomplishments as leverage for obtaining a commensurate salary.
