There is plenty of help for the career changer online, from skills assessment to job leads. But your fingers must leave the keyboard at some point and, as Shawn A. Smith, a Harrison, N.Y., attorney and career counselor says, “do the legwork. … When you don’t do what is necessary to make the human connection, you place yourself at a disadvantage.” This article provides some suggestions on making those contacts.
Note that while the context of this article is the legal profession, the advice it contains applies in all fields.
