Questioning whether a spring or summer internship is right for you? Wondering if internships are as valuable as everyone says they are? If you have answered yes to these two questions, then this article is for you! According to both students and companies, an internship is a great way to see if that job is the best match. To appeal to the “best and brightest,” companies are looking for interns as early as students’ first and second years. Clear and defined internships attract qualified students. At Arizona State University in Tempe, 80-85% of the seniors commit to a job to the employer where they interned. Due to their experience and qualifications, students can be more selective with their job offers, and often ask about 401k plans, job layoff history, and specific projects on the job.
