This article offers advice on how to write an email cover letter and make a good first impression. The article advocates skipping the cover letter attachment and instead turning one’s email message into a cover letter. One paragraph is a recommended length for this kind of cover letter. Whether you include your cover letter as in-line text or as an attachment, remember that a good cover letter shares a bit of one’s background but mostly talks about the company’s needs and describes why one’s experience is perfectly suited to the opportunity.
