What is your next step? Are you interested in pushing your career or education to the next level? “Career Mapping” refers to creating a plan or a map to follow career goals. Specifically, this article refers to the healthcare field; however, the goals and aspirations needed to move up — and become a leader — are similar across all fields.
Developing realistic short and long-term goals seems to be one of the most important aspects of improving one’s career and making it to “the top.” Attending professional development meetings, having mentors, utilizing teamwork, creating a network, being customer driven, and “nurturing emotional intelligence” are all important ways to help you succeed.
