Critical Care Nurse, Feb. 2007, Supplement, p.32-33.
Are you looking to network with people in your field? Consider getting involved in a professional organization? Some associations include the American Marketing Association (http://www.marketingpower.com/) ,the American Nurses Association (http://nursingworld.org/), and the American Art Pottery Association (http://www.amartpot.org/). No matter what your interest is, most likely there will be a group to support you!
Becoming a member of the professional organization in your field has many advantages. They include: career opportunities, networking, scholarships and grants, “insider’s” advice, and of course, new acquaintances and friendships. There are professional organizations for most majors. There usually is a reasonable registration fee for students, which pays itself off due to all of excellent new resources for you.
