“Report: Women Don’t Make It in Mass”

Boston Globe, 3/7/07.
A recent report from the National Association for Female Executives (http://nafe.com/) does not include any Massachusetts-based corporations in its list of top women-friendly firms. One possible reason for these results may be that large corporations have bought up local firms, transforming them into branch offices for headquarters located elsewhere. For example, the New York Times, which recently acquired the Boston Globe, is on the list. Additionally, “companies have to apply to the association to be considered, and perhaps many Bay State companies didn’t apply.”
