Josh Hyatt, Money Magazine, April 2007, p. 108.
Are you planning on starting your own business? This article has practical suggestions for anyone looking to enter the business world as their own boss. It goes over seven points that everyone could benefit from.
The author suggests providing financial padding for yourself and your business, at least “a year’s worth of income.” He also suggests not letting one project take a large amount of money; be sure to spread out your projects and funds. Other suggestions include remaining active in organizations and groups, as oftentimes people who work for themselves feel isolated and lonely. Hyatt emphasized maintaining connections by teaching courses and speaking at different events. Advertising and promoting yourself and calculating your worth are also important.
