Are you thinking about working in Europe? In the past, due to their high unemployment rate, Europe has not been an ideal place to look for a job. Recent changes in the European Union have occurred, however, and business investment and consumer spending are boosting the job market. The U.K. and Spain’s economies seem to be doing well, and jobs continuie to be created. Central European countries like Poland and Hungary are also on the road to economic recovery.
Manufacturing, services, and construction are areas that will be hiring in the next few years. One employer in Germany who is looking to hire is Q-Cells AG, a solar cell maker, which plans on hiring 4,000 workers in the next four years. In Italy, Fiat SpA intends to increase their work force, as well as the steelmaker Arvedi Group in northern Italy.
If you’re interested in finding work in Europe, start by reading this article (linked above), and visit our eLibrary international work page at http://my.simmons.edu/library/collections/career/intlwork.shtml.
