Here’s some quick advice about how to deal with an annoyingly persistent trend: the fact that on average women get paid 74.9% of what men get paid. Essentially being able to advocate for yourself and demand change is important, especially as in the last 10 years the gender gap in pay has actually increased. Crucial steps in this process include researching your field, being persistent, negotiating more than just pay, acting confident, negotiating when you have other offers, and doing advanced prep-work so that you have a well planned case when you ask for what you deserve.
