This report is great news for anyone interested in working in the arts or nonprofit cultural organizations in the New York area. The financial impact of the arts in New York City has grown 61% since a similar study in 1993, including significant increases in all major segments of the industry. The NY arts industry not only benefits the city and state by providing numerous cultural opportunities but also generated nearly 200,000 jobs and $1.2 billion in tax revenue in 2005.
