The great summer weather is finally here, and many recent graduates might want to take a well-deserved breather before they gear up for the next stage of their life. At the same time, for those who intend to continue on to graduate school within the next year but have not yet applied, it would be wise to take advantage of some rainy days to begin planning for graduate school admission. This article provides an excellent checklist of tasks for putting together your admissions application. Among the many topics addressed are researching programs in your intended area of study, preparing for any required entrance exams, successfully completing all school-specific admissions requirements (tips on obtaining letters of recommendation, writing a killer entrance essay, etc.) as well as online searching for available scholarships, grants, or school loans. The article contains many links to in-depth information, is a must-read for demystifying the graduate school application process, and is sure to reduce some of the stress that applying to graduate school may provoke.
