Are you feeling as though you have sent out so many resumes but are not get any significant response? Are you worried that your resumes are getting lost in a sea of similarly formatted resumes and would like to find a way to stand out from many other job applicants? If so, you may be considering taking an unusual creative approach to grab the attention of hiring managers. Read this article to get important tips on the do’s and don’ts of “setting yourself apart” and to better understand how and when to use non-traditional ways to impress prospective employers.
Many examples of failed creative approaches are included, as well as some examples of successful tactics. The article also mentions which industries are most receptive to non-traditional job seeking methods and emphasizes that learning about the special interests of a prospective employer may be the best way to tailor your attempt to make a strong impression.
As both a cautionary tale and one which may inspire you to think outside of the box, this article is an excellent read for all job seekers.
