Personal and Corporate Culture: A Complicated Relationship

In the past couple of decades there has been an increased awareness for the phenomenon of ‘corporate culture’. However, quite often this jargon acts as more of a buzz phrase than something revealing in-depth understanding. Journalist Kamal Kant talks about the cultural subtleties that underlie any given organization, ways of functioning that run deeper than say - company goals. According to Kant, there is a lack of appreciation for just how much corporate culture, and one’s ability to fit into it plays a role in determining one’s career success. Understanding and fitting into a company’s culture is a type of know-how that can make a tremendous difference to the tune of whether and how you will move along its framework.
