This may sound surprising but even highly successful people sometimes experience a lack of fulfillment in their career. This Harvard Business Review article by Robert S. Kaplan is about assessing whether or not you’re reaching YOUR full potential. Like anything else, people often rely too much on social opinion when making choices along their career paths.

There are many cases of people strategizing all the way to the top, only to find out they don’t even like what they are at the top of. Kaplan shares some wisdom regarding the achievement of work satisfaction. Much of it boils down to the old adage ‘know thyself’. Figure out what truly makes you happy. Once you know what you’d like to do, pay attention to whatever are the keys to success for that venture and be disciplined about prioritizing.
