Can’t decide if you should head off to graduate school or dive right into the job market when you graduate?
Check out Prachi Patel-Predd’s “The Biggest Career Choice of All Is When to Start” outlining the pros and cons of going directly to graduate school. She suggests weighing the cost of not working during graduate school with the cost of waiting to attain a higher degree. She also highlights options like graduate fellowships and other types of financial assistance. Though the article has an engineering focus, it contains relevant information for anyone wishing to enter fields where attaining a graduate degree will be required.
For more information on choosing the right graduate school program for you check out the CRL’s eLibrary page on Graduate School Planning, a resource guide that includes information on finding the right program, preparing for the application process, financial aid services, and more!
