If you were unemployed, would you take a job offer that paid you less than you used to make, or would you hold out for a better salary? NPR’s Larry Abramson in his recent podcast, Jobless Ask: Take First Offer Or Wait For Better? discusses this issue of settling and holding.
While looking for the right job to come around, emotions can run the gamut, as Abramson states, from enthusiasm to “zen-like patience” to despair. Many unemployed individuals who have been in the workforce for quite a while are looking to match their old salary, but may have to settle for less until things improve.
