Library and Information Science Full Text Electronic Journals Index
Scope of the Index
This index covers over 200 full text electronic journals from the field of Library and Information Science to which the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) has access. The electronic journals are indexed by general subject area at the title level. The user of this index will be able to find substantial coverage of the index term's topic when searching several issues of a journal listed under that index term. The index is intended for use by the faculty, staff, and students of Simmons College. There are two indexes, subject and title, which may be used separately or in conjuction with each other:
Subject Index
The Subject Index provides an alphabetical list of descriptors on the left screen. By selecting one of the descriptors, a list of the electronic journal titles that are indexed under that term will appear, with their access points, in the right pane of the computer screen. If a URL appears, that electronic journal may be accessed directly. If a list of databases appears, that journal title may be accessed through the Resources Page of the GSLIS Library. Directions on how to access the journal through a title search are provided for each of the databases in the bottom frame of the Subject Index.
Title Index
The Title Index provides an alphabetical list of the electronic journals in the left pane of the computer screen. By selecting one of the titles, that title, its points of access, and the descriptor terms that the journal are indexed under, will appear in the right frame of the computer screen. If a list of databases appears, that journal title may be accessed through the Resources Page of the GSLIS Library. Directions on how to access the journal through a title search are provided for each of the databases in the bottom frame of the Title Index.
