How Do I Search the Library Catalog from my browser?
Now you don’t need to go to the library catalog web page to search for the materials you need. Two browser plug-in options let you search the catalog from anywhere on the web.
Want simple searches?
If you use Firefox, the Open Search plug in lets you search by keyword without installing a new toolbar. In the upper-right-hand corner of the browser window, you’ll see a search box with a drop down menu. Just select “Add Simmons Library,” and you’ll be able to search the Simmons Library catalog from your browser just by selecting the Simmons Library search option.
Want more advanced search options?
LibX is a more advanced plug-in that can be used with both Internet Explorer and Firefox. Installing the LibX toolbar allows you to search the catalog, online databases, and Google Scholar. You can construct more complicated searches, and search by keyword, author, title, journal title, ISBN, and more. To install the LibX tool bar, visit the Simmons LibX page and follow the easy instructions for installing the toolbar.
