SEVIS Information

SEVIS (Student Exchange Visitor Information System) was implemented by the US Government in order to keep track of non-immigrant international students and their “reportable events”.  These events include, but are not limited to:

  •      Arrival at your school
  •      Departure from your school
  •      School transfer
  •      No-show
  •      Leave of Absence
  •      Extension of your program
  •      Termination of your program
  •      Change of major
  •      Change of Academic Level
  •      Family information
  •      Work authorization
  •      Change of contact information

 

Every school has an appointed PDSO, Principal Designated School Official, who is responsible for entering this information into SEVIS.  Dean Sheila Murphy is the PDSO for Simmons College.  There are also signature only DSOs, designated school officials, that can sign your I-20.  This should be done every six months and right before you travel abroad.  The following people have signing authority:
