Undergraduate Orientation

Welcome to Simmons College

Simmons College's Orientation offers you the opportunity to meet other new students, create an academic schedule, learn about cocurricular opportunities at Simmons, and explore Boston. Sharing ideas with both new and current students and meeting faculty members and administrators who will help ensure your success is crucial for any orientation. However, discovering the spirit of Simmons through its people and community may be the most memorable part of this experience. Most importantly, Orientation will help you to CONNECT with students, faculty, staff, resources, Boston, and much more.

Undergraduate Orientation for First-Years and Transfers will take place from Saturday, August 30, 2008 through Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Dix Scholars Orientation will be on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 or Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Dix Scholars can choose which session to attend; Dix Scholars and their families are also invited to join all incoming students for the Campus Welcome and Picnic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2008. Your Orientation experience will begin in early June, months before you arrive on campus.  In early June, most students will be contacted by their Orientation Leader, a trained student leader who will help you CONNECT with other students in your orientation group and learn about some resources prior to coming to Simmons. You will also have an opportunity to CONNECT with a faculty advisor during the month of June who will help you register for your classes in the fall. Throughout the summer, we will be adding more information to this website which will help you and your family to CONNECT to the many resources available for you at Simmons.   We are so excited that you are joining the Simmons Community, and we look forward to your participation in all aspects of the orientation program. The Office of Student Leadership and Activities and the Orientation Leaders are ready to assist you, so please do not hesitate to ask questions if you need help. Orientation will be one of your first memories of Simmons, and we are committed to making it one of your fondest, too!
