Overview
This website was prepared by the Simmons College Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) in order to provide the Simmons community with important information about sexual assault and rape. SART is an interdisciplinary committee comprised of representatives from the Student Life Office, the Health and Counseling Centers, Health Education, Residence Life and Public Safety. In particular, this website focuses on the aftermath of a sexual assault, including healthcare and legal options, common emotional responses, and on and off-campus resources. We also offer strategies for maximizing personal safety. It is our hope that this website will serve as a useful guide both for students who have experienced a sexual assault as well as for friends, faculty, staff and other support people.
The members of SART join the many students, faculty and staff at Simmons who are committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy living and learning community. This website is one step toward that goal. We welcome and encourage input from the Simmons community.
