Fund for Research

The Fund for Research was established in 1966 with a generous alumnae gift. The Fund offers small grants to faculty members and senior staff to pursue scholarly research for professional development and/or institutional research contributing to the educational functioning of the College. "Research" is to be interpreted broadly — to embrace both analytical and creative efforts.

Faculty Development Fund

The Faculty Development Fund supports activities that contribute to the overall professional development of Simmons College faculty. These activities include, but are not limited to: presenting papers at professional meetings; workshop participation; travel associated with development of teaching materials; and other activities related to enhancing development or visibility of the individual applicant. All full-time faculty are eligible to apply.

The Faculty Development Fund will be administered through the Fund for Research Committee. Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis. Applications must be submitted so that the award activity commences after the decision process takes place. No awards are made after the activity has been completed.

Each faculty member may apply for up to $1,000 in support from the Faculty Development Fund during each academic year. The maximum award for each individual application is $750.
