Between 9:30 and 10 am this morning (4/25/05) some faculty and staff on campus using the file server may have had difficulty accessing their network file server user folders.
Mac users were unable to reach the Users volume, and so unable to reach their personal network folders on the file server.
Windows users accessing their folders through the Y: drive were unaffected. Windows users trying to reach their personal network folders on the file server through the H: drive were unable to.
The “permissions” on that portion of the file server were mistakenly modified. It took some time before this access problem was identified, and then it was immediately rectified. No files, documents, or folders were damaged or lost.
Service has been fully restored.
