Dear Simmons Students,
As we come to the close of the fall semester, we would like to acknowledge the challenges associated with the implementation of the new printing policy in public printing areas. We believe we have identified the key problems based upon feedback from users, and have worked to correct these issues in order to avoid any future problems.
In recognition of these challenges, and in appreciation for your patience during the roll out, the Technology Governance Committee has allotted a one-time additional 50 free pages to help carry you through finals. These extra 50 pages have been added to your Shark card and can be used immediately.
The quota will be reset to 350 printouts and 50 bonus pages for misprints just before the spring semester.
Maximize your print quota by printing double-sided. Printing double-sided not only helps you to print more for less money, but all also contributes to conserving paper and keeping printing costs down. To find out where you can go to print double-sided or for more information about printing, see: http://my.simmons.edu/printing. You may also visit the Information Commons Technology Desk on the 2nd floor of the Library for printing assistance.
Remember to add money to your Shark Card before you run out of printouts. When you see that you only have $7 (100 printouts) left to print, make sure to submit an application for a Shark Card account and add money to it. You can fill out an application to create a Shark Card account at the One Card Office E-007.
Thank you for assisting Simmons in being more environmentally friendly and minimizing waste at the public printing stations.
Best wishes for a joyous holiday season.
