Technology at Simmons College wants to ensure that discipline-specific software you need for your courses is installed prior to the start of the spring 2006 semester. If you wish to have software installed for use within the first 3 weeks of classes, please submit the online software installation request form at http://my.simmons.edu/technology/labs/software-request.shtml by January 6, 2006. Please fill out the on-line software installation form, if you have:
- discipline-specific software that you need installed on general access (i.e. Library Information Commons and Residence Hall Labs), technology lab or classroom computers
- software that comes with textbooks you assign
- special files, add-ins or plug-ins to accompany software
Please note that the Microsoft Office Suite, Acrobat Standard, Photoshop and Dreamweaver are still included on every computer and you do not need to fill out a form to request them. (In addition, Minitab, SAS, SPSS, are installed on all Windows computers in general access spaces and labs.) Please be sure that the software you request is compatible with either Windows XP or Mac OS X.3.
All forms received after January 6 will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be available to you on the first day of classes.
If you have any questions, or will have difficulty meeting this deadline, please contact Cyndi Rubino at 617-521-2762 or by email at rubino@simmons.edu.
Thank you,
-Technology at Simmons College
