Simmons TechAlert: Email/spam issue resolved

This is the "all clear" for the Simmons TechAlert announced April 19, 2007. All Simmons technology services are operating normally.

We believe that legitimate email messages are no longer being labeled as spam. On Friday, April 20, we worked with our spam filter vendor to fix what we believe to have been the cause of the problem.

For those with curious minds and patience for technical explanations:
the anti-spam rules held an inappropriately high weighting to a particular check which was immediately reduced to an appropriate level (from 80% to 25%).

If you discover that any legitimate email messages you send are not received, please call the Help Desk at 617-521-2222 option 8 immediately.
