Backup Tips
To protect against potential hardware failure and against viruses, you should regularly backup documents stored on your hard drive. At least weekly you should copy your "My Documents" (Windows) or "Documents" (Macintosh) folder to your personal folder on the file server. (Alternatively, you may choose to store and use all of documents directly from the file server.) In addition, there are files outside your Documents folder that you should purposefully and routinely copy to the file server to ensure if something happens to your hard drive you will not lose valuable information. Please do not use floppy or zip disks for backing up files.
Note: for information about the computer replacement cycle, please see the Overview.
