Self-Help Clinics

In providing technical support, Technology's goal is to help members of the Simmons Community learn to care for their own computers. Self-Help Clinics are designed to give you direct access to Technology's expertise. We instruct students, faculty and staff in small groups, to troubleshoot and resolve software issues. We find that the most common problems people have with their computers can be solved by following the step-by-step instructions on our Disinfect & Protect site; you might give that a try before signing up for a clinic.

Clinic attendance is by registration only. You may register by either sending an email to techclinic@simmons.edu or completing our online inquiry form. In your correspondence, please include the date of the clinic you would like to attend. See the clinic schedule below.

You should bring your computer and the original CDs for any software that you suspect is causing trouble. Please note that to protect the manufacturer's warranty, as a general rule Help Desk technicians do not open, take apart, or install hardware components or install software on any personally-owned machine.

When you come to a clinic, you will be asked to sign a release form that indicates you understand the purpose of the clinic and take responsibility for your own computer.
