Committee Membership
The Technology Governance Committee is structured to provide representation on technology issues for all constituent groups of the College. The Executive Director of Technology along with selected technology managers and staff are members of Tech Gov and its subcommittees and also function as staff to Tech Gov and its subcommittees. Members can be self-nominated, recommended by colleagues, or solicited from President's Council, and are appointed by the Senior Vice President for Administration and Planning. Committee Structure
In order to assure the appropriate representation and focus on College-wide technology priorities, the following subcommittees have been formed. From time to time, ad hoc task forces may be created to address specific issues. The Chairs of each subcommittee are members of and appointed by Tech Gov. At least two additional members of each subcommittee will be members Tech Gov, with the balance of the members drawn from the larger community. This approach is intended to broaden and extend the knowledge and communication base of Tech Gov.
- The Academic Technology Committee (ATC) - primarily responsible for ensuring that there is a shared vision and priorities for the academic use of technology, in partnership with the Deans and faculty of all schools. For example, this could include developing a plan for distance education, online curriculum development, faculty development, student technology competencies, etc.
- The Technology Systems and Services Committee (TSS) - responsible for planning for the underlying academic, student life, and administrative application requirements for the successful provision of services to the institution. For example, this could include enrolling, advising and registering students online, and managing the financial affairs of the institution online.
Committee Logistics
The Technology Governance Committee and its subcommittees function formally throughout the academic year. The Technology Governance Committee meets once per month throughout the calendar year.
At the beginning of each Academic year, the Technology Governance Committee develops charges for each subcommittee and task forces.
