Teaching & Learning
The Pottruck Technology Resource Center (PTRC) helps faculty and students integrate technology into their teaching and learning. In collaboration with departments, we also help students achieve fluency with information technology so that they can excel in future professional and academic ventures.
- Pottruck Technology Resource Center
- Funding, including grants and fellowships
- Resources, such as articles and presentations, WebCT documentation and external links
- Consultation—Sometimes you have an idea for an activity, project, or course, but you're not quite sure how to make it happen. PTRC consults with faculty, departments, and schools collaborating on the translation of ideas into innovative opportunities for learning.
- Training is offered on a wide range of technology.
- Professional Development—PTRC sponsors conferences, lunch discussions, and special events about technology integration across the curriculum.
- Online Services are offered via the PTRC Training Catalog, which contains an extensive catalog of free training for Simmons faculty, staff and students; and through WebCT, which can be used to post a syllabus, lecture notes, and other course materials on the internet, link directly to online journal articles, serve online quizzes, as well as communicate with students in a real-time chatroom or with a bulletin board.
