NOTE FROM MARY D.
Hard to believe, but we are almost through the 4th week of the semester! What that means is that in the next two weeks, students start to feel the crunch of quizes, exams, and papers as well as the normal prep required for class. Many students have new courses starting this week with Operations, Public Speaking and SDM. All of these factors combined with your already busy lives tends to raise the stress levels a bit. The long weekend is perfectly positioned for both rest, fun and catch up!!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success.” — Brian Adams

WEBCT VISTA FEEDBACK
As many students know, we have been a beta site for the launch of the new webct vista. SOM students and faculty have been fabulous about helping the school and the college rollout new products that enhance the student experience. The academic technology staff will be over at 3pm on Wednesday, October 5, to talk with students about their experiences so far. For night students, please email your comments and concerns to webct@simmons.edu or get them to Mary D. or Suzzette before Wednesday so that we can funnel the feedback into the discussion!! Thanks very much!

THANK YOU…
To the SOM community for your Hurricane Katrina contributions. We donated pampers, baby clothes, adult clothes, canned goods and nonperishables, and toiletries. The Response Team will be convening soon to decide next steps, so stay tuned.
