Please take a moment to read through the following tips and reminders to help carry you through the rest of the semester.

PRINTING
There are several public printers for you to use, all in the 411 Comm. Ave. building:
1. Basement: SOM Library
2. 1st floor: SOM Lab, Living Room (a.k.a. Oval Dining Room)
3. 5th floor: study rooms

Please be aware of the number of printouts you have remaining on your print quota. To see how much you have left, print something, swipe your card, and check the bottom left-hand side of the CS Print screen. Once you have only $7.00 left on your card, we strongly recommend that you add money to cover the cost of printing for the rest of the semester. For more information, please visit http://my.simmons.edu/printing/faq.shtml.

SAVING AND TRANSPORTING FILES
Don’t save files on the “desktop” of Simmons lab, study room or library computers. On restart, all changes (including saving of files) made to these computers are erased.

Instead, save to your personal folder on the file server (remember you can access these files anywhere, anytime from a computer with an Internet connection: remote.simmons.edu), or to a USB flash storage device (a.k.a. USB key).

And make sure to back up your important files by saving them in more than one place.

CLASS AUDIO TAPES
Are you nervous about missing one of your quantitative classes?

Class audio tapes are made for each quantitative class (e.g. Economics and Accounting). The equipment for you to make a copy is located in the vending machine room off of the Student Living Room.

STUDENT ASSESSMENT SURVEY
Fill out the quick online survey at http://my.simmons.edu/techsurvey for a chance to win an iPod Shuffle and other prizes.

You might win one of these:
1st Prize – 512MB iPod shuffle
2nd Prize – 128MB USB Flash Storage Device
3rd Prize – $15 iTunes Gift Card

Thank you in advance for your participation. The information you provide will help us improve our services.
